Your Library Card

Your library card is your passport to the world of information available at the public library. Library cards are free for those who live or own property in Cumberland County, and they're easy to get.

Your library card can be used at each library location and the Mobile Outreach Service.

Obtaining a Library Card

You must fill out an application online. Present a valid form of photo identification with your birth date and home address on it, such as your driver's license, when you pick up your card at the library. Children of the above (15 years of age and younger) may receive a regular or juvenile library card. The signature of a parent or guardian is required. Persons who do not live or own property in Cumberland County must pay an annual fee of $25.00 for a library card.

Library Card Applications are available online only. Click here to apply.

Library Card Expiration

Your library card will expire after one year. You can renew your library card at the Check Out desk of any branch or by phone. Library staff will confirm that your information is accurate and renew your card for the next year.

Password

Your password is the first four letters of your last name. Example: If your last name is "Smith" then your password is "smit."

This password is necessary to log into the public computers as well as your account information online. It cannot be changed.

Temporary Cards

If you do not reside in Cumberland County, you may receive a free Temporary Computer Users card by providing picture identification with birthdate and home address. This will allow you to log in and use the computers at any branch.
