Basic legal resources include North Carolina laws and cases, the U.S. Code Annotated, the U.S. Code Service, U.S. Supreme Court cases, legal encyclopedias, digests, Federal Supplement, Federal Reporter, and South Eastern Reporter.

North Carolina law (NCGS 84-4) prohibits non-lawyers from assisting anyone with legal questions; therefore, library staff are forbidden from giving legal advice or opinions. Staff will provide and show you how to use resources concerning your interests or problem. Seek legal counsel for additional assistance.
