In 1902 schools in Flea Hill, Rock Hill, and Bear communities were consolidated and a new school opened. The school was officially named Eastover in 1903. A high school was established in 1909 and became the first accredited high school in the county school system in 1919. A two-story brick building was constructed in 1926. This structure had 16 classrooms, an auditorium, library and science laboratory. A fire in 1936 destroyed the building.
