LIBRARIAN I/IS FTCC LIAISON #117000212

The FTCC Librarian I Liaison is funded by FTCC through contractual agreement, and works at the Spring Lake Branch Library. This librarian works the adult reference desk and performs related tasks in support of the Spring Lake Branch Library and its customers. Delivers incoming FTCC student library orientations, to introduce information literacy and library services. Records statistics related to orientations, and classroom visits. Presents information literacy seminars to FTCC classes on the use of Library and FTCC databases. Initiates contact with instructors to schedule library orientation sessions for Academic Readiness and English classes. Promotes the Spring Lake Branch to FTCC students during visits to FTCC Spring Lake campus.

Location: Spring Lake Library

Requirements: Master of Library Science degree (MLS) from an accredited college or university.

Trainee applicants must have completed at least 75% of required course work towards a MLS and submit a letter from the dean of the library school that states the number of credit hours already obtained and that the candidate can complete all master's degree requirements within twelve months.

Current salary is: $39,295.64/Year

The major objective of this position is to perform building and grounds maintenance in order to keep the Library facilities clean, attractive and functioning efficiently. An employee in this position
is responsible for sweeping, mopping and using vacuum cleaners to clean floors; washing walls, windows, woodwork and fixtures; and policing building to empty trash receptacles and pick up of debris, etc. Dusts and cleans desks and other furniture; cleans and sanitizes restrooms using established practices and procedures; strips wax, waxes and buffs floor surfaces, etc. Assists with the setup of meetings and events at the library.

Requirements: Completion of eighth grade and six months work experience to include some janitorial and/or maintenance duties in an office or commercial environment; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Librarian II/Local & State History Manager #117000045

An employee in this position is responsible for the overall supervision of the Local and State History Department, including management of the collection, and supervision, training, and scheduling of staff in the Local and State History department. Co-coordinates the supervision, training, and scheduling of IS staff for general information services. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Headquarters Services Manager. This position regularly acts as Person in Charge in the absence of the Headquarters Services Manager.

Requirements: Master of Library Science degree (MLS) and two years of professional librarian experience required.

Management Preference:
MLS professional librarian experience in a public library preferred; experience with genealogy and/or family history research resources and methods preferred; experience with archives and preservation of documents is preferred; six months supervisory experience preferred.

Trainee Qualifications:
Trainee candidates must have at least 12 months experience as a MLS professional librarian in a public library.

Salary: $43,009.80/Year

Librarian IV/Regional Branch Manager #117000004

An employee in this position is responsible for performing complex professional library work and administering a Regional Branch Library. Oversees all branch services including Information and Outreach Services, Youth Services, Circulation Services and Paging. Responsible for the supervision of subordinate staff. Position includes supervision of a Community Branch Manager/Librarian III and/or other significant system wide service. Ensures safety and security for all staff and customers. Considerable independent judgment and initiative as well as interpersonal skills are needed to coordinate work of others. Tact and courtesy are required.

Requirements: Master of Library Science and four and a half (4 1/2) years of professional public library experience to include two (2) years of supervisory experience in a public library.

Trainee Appointment:
Trainee candidates must have at least 4 years of professional public library experience and 18 months of supervisory experience in a public library.

Salary: $51,516.19/Year
