Custodian Position Roster #117000142

The major objective of this position is to perform building and grounds maintenance in order to keep the Library facilities clean, attractive and functioning efficiently. An employee in this position
is responsible for sweeping, mopping and using vacuum cleaners to clean floors; washing walls, windows, woodwork and fixtures; and policing building to empty trash receptacles and pick up of debris, etc. Dusts and cleans desks and other furniture; cleans and sanitizes restrooms using established practices and procedures; strips wax, waxes and buffs floor surfaces, etc. Assists with the setup of meetings and events at the library.

Requirements: Completion of eighth grade and six months work experience to include some janitorial and/or maintenance duties in an office or commercial environment; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Librarian III/Community Branch Manager #117000237

An employee in this position is responsible for performing complex professional library work and administration of a Community Branch. Considerable independent judgment and initiative as well as interpersonal skills are needed to coordinate work of others. Ensures that safety and security are maintained for all staff and customers, and that the building and grounds remain safe and secure. Oversees all branch services including Information Services, Youth Services, Circulation Services and Paging. Conducts regular staff meetings and ensures communication between departments and individuals.

Location: West Regional Branch Library

Requirements: Master of Library Science degree (MLS) required. Must have three years experience as a MLS professional librarian in a public library and one year of library supervisory experience.

Trainee candidates must have at least 30 months (2 ½ years) experience as a MLS professional librarian in a public library and six months of library supervisory experience.

Experience as a trainer preferred

Salary: $47,476.00 /Year

Librarian IV/Regional Branch Manager #117000038

An employee in this position is responsible for performing complex professional library work and administering a Regional Branch Library. Hires, supervises, trains, and evaluates department managers and branch staff to ensure policies and procedures are followed and library goals are met. Oversees all branch services including Information and Outreach Services, Youth Services, Circulation Services and Paging. Chairs task forces and/or ongoing committees and oversees special projects as assigned; e.g. grant-writing. Participates in budget preparation process by submitting recommendations for equipment, personnel and supplies.
