Library Deputy Director #117000002

Cumberland County Public Library is seeking a dynamic, innovative, and flexible leader to serve as the system’s Deputy Director. The chosen candidate will have the opportunity to work shoulder to shoulder with the Library Director and an outstanding library family to encourage innovation and excellent customer service both within the eight library branches and beyond the libraries’ walls. The ideal candidate must possess creative leadership skills that foster a collaborative, enthusiastic team. The Deputy Director will be an essential partner to the Director and library leadership team as they work together to serve the community and enhance the strategic mission and goals of Cumberland County and Cumberland County Public Library.

Location: Headquarters Administration

Requirements: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Master’s degree in Library Science and seven (7) years of professional public library experience to include five (5) years of supervisory experience in a public library working with all levels of library staff;

Equivalent Training and experience: MLS with two years of professional public library experience combined with a Master’s degree or higher in another field and five years of public service experience to include considerable supervisory experience. Trainee status may be considered

Salary is: between $64,662.14 and $81,336.00/Year**

Librarian II Youth Services #117000248

An employee in this position is required to provide reference service and readers’ advisory in youth literature. Develops and presents programs for youth from birth through grade 12. May act as supervisor in charge on a regular basis in the absence of the manager. Works with other YS Librarian II’s under the direction of the Division Manager for Youth Services to plan and implement new services and programs for youth. May be assigned system-wide responsibilities such as grant management, new service development, or ordering materials.

Requirements: Master of Library Science degree (MLS) required. Must have two (2) years experience as a professional librarian. Six months supervisory experience preferred. Experience in providing services to youth is preferred.

Equivalent Training/Experience
Trainee candidates must have at least 12 months experience as a MLS professional librarian.

Special Requirements:
In this position you will be required to travel to and from multiple locations to perform some of the services and programs offered.

Salary is:$43,009.80 /Year
