PART TIME LIBRARY ASSOCIATE/Information Services #LIB0212

Located at the West Regional Branch Library, an employee in this position performs reference services within the Information Services department. Independent judgment is necessary in assisting customers with information and materials selection. Staffs a public service point. Performs proactive reference; assists customers with information and technology resources. Performs basic troubleshooting of library equipment. Trains the public in the use of library resources and equipment. Assists professional librarians with programming. Provides one-on-one instruction for customers on an appointment basis (Book-a-Librarian). Under general supervision, participates in collection maintenance. May review donations, work on weeding of materials, collection development files, and purchase requests under direct supervision of the branch manager or other professional library staff. May assist Circulation Department during staff shortages. Assists in building and maintaining branch displays of library materials.

Requirements: Graduation from a four-year college or university and one year of relevant public library experience or progressive customer relations experience in the public sector; or an Associate's degree in Library & Information Technology and two years of relevant public library experience or progressive customer relations experience in the public sector; or an Associate's degree and three years of relevant public library experience or progressive customer relations experience in the public sector; or graduation from high school and five years of relevant public library experience or progressive customer relations experience in the public sector; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Current salary is: $15.74/hr

Hours: 16 per week

Department IT Support Technician I #LIB0014

An employee in this position provides technical assistance to library departments and employees regarding personal computers, software programs, telephonic equipment, audio visual, printers, and other computer peripherals. Assistance is provided in the form of installation, repair, maintenance, and training. Employee assists with editing and updating of library website. Ability to demonstrate hardware and software operation and effective communication skills are needed. Work is performed under the supervision of the Department IT Support Technician II and is evaluated by observation of overall implementation of assigned duties.

Location: Headquarters Library

Requirements: Two (2) year degree in computer science or related field supplemented by three (3) years' experience and/or training that includes PC repair and installation, network configuration, printer repair and installation, software installs (server and client based), systems troubleshooting and managing devices on a Windows domain using Active Directory; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Preference will be given to applicants with certification in A+, Network+, MCSA/MCSE and CCNA.

Must have or achieve A+ certification within 6 months of hire date.

Salary is: $32,731/year
