An employee in this position is responsible for developing and cultivating community partnerships that increase the library's capacity to reach underserved populations. Works with senior managers to identify key groups and agencies that serve them to provide library services or information about services. Identifies community events and recommends library participation. Conducts agency visits to determine if library services will enhance or supplement their services and/or provides an information exchange. Facilitates new partnerships through intake and assessment process. Serves on councils and committees as assigned.

Requirements: Master’s degree in Library Science and two (2) years of professional librarian experience, or a Master's degree in Marketing, Communications, Education, Management or related field and two (2) years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Trainee candidates must have at least 12 months of professional library experience.

Salary: $42,583.96 /Year

Librarian IV/Regional Branch Manager #117000004

An employee in this position is responsible for performing complex professional library work and administering a Regional Branch Library. Oversees all branch services including Information and Outreach Services, Youth Services, Circulation Services and Paging. Responsible for the supervision of subordinate staff. Position includes supervision of a Community Branch Manager/Librarian III and/or other significant system wide service. Ensures safety and security for all staff and customers. Considerable independent judgment and initiative as well as interpersonal skills are needed to coordinate work of others. Tact and courtesy are required.

Requirements: Master of Library Science and four and a half (4 1/2) years of professional public library experience to include two (2) years of supervisory experience in a public library.

Trainee Appointment:
Trainee candidates must have at least 4 years of professional public library experience and 18 months of supervisory experience in a public library.

Salary: $51,006.13/Year

Librarian III/Community Branch Manager #117000237

An employee in this position leads a community branch and is responsible for hiring, supervising, training, evaluating, and scheduling subordinate supervisors and branch staff to ensure customers are given efficient, prompt, and competent assistance; and pleasant working conditions are maintained. Oversees all branch services and operations in accordance with policy and procedures, including Information Services, Youth Services, Circulation Services, and Paging. Ensures that safety and security are maintained for all staff and customers, and that the building and grounds remain safe and secure.

Location: West Branch Library

Requirements: Master of Library Science degree (MLS) required. Must have three years experience as a MLS professional librarian in a public library and one year of library supervisory experience.

Trainee candidates must have at least 30 months (2 ½ years) experience as a MLS professional librarian in a public library and six months of library supervisory experience.

Experience as a trainer preferred

Salary: $47,476.00 /Year
