An employee in this position is responsible for performing customer services at information and/or youth services desks. Requirements: Graduation from a four-year college or university and one (1) year of relevant public library experience or progressive customer relations experience in the public sector.

Equivalent Training: Associate's degree in Library and Information Technology and two (2) years of relevant public library experience or; an Associate's degree and three (3) years of relevant public library experience or progressive customer relations experience in the public sector or; graduation from high school and five (5) years of relevant public library experience or progressive customer relations experience in the public sector; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Relevant public library experience and/or experience working with children and young adults is preferred.

ADMINISTRATIVE COORDINATOR I/Human Resources #LIB0066

An employee in this position performs highly skilled administrative work which includes personnel training and consultation; interprets County and Library Personnel Policies and Procedures as the Personnel Manager for the Library under the direction of the Library Director. The employee is the primary contact for library staff regarding human resource questions or information on personnel actions. An employee in this position is responsible for performing complex professional library work and administering a Regional Branch Library. Hires, supervises, trains, and evaluates department managers and branch staff to ensure policies and procedures are followed and library goals are met. An employee in this position is responsible for the overall supervision of the Local and State History Department, including management of the collection, and supervision, training, and scheduling of staff in the Local and State History department. An employee in this position is required to provide reference service and readers’ advisory in youth literature. Develops and presents programs for youth from birth through grade 12. May act as supervisor in charge on a regular basis in the absence of the manager. Works with other YS Librarian II’s under the direction of the Division Manager for Youth Services to plan and implement new services and programs for youth. May be assigned system-wide responsibilities such as grant management, new service development, or ordering materials.

Equivalent Training:
Trainee applicants must have completed at least 75% of required course work towards a MLS and submit a letter from the dean of the library school that states the number of credit hours already obtained and that the candidate can complete all Master's degree requirements within twelve months.

Preferred candidates will have educational background or experience in Youth Services.

Salary: $39,295.64 per year
