Administrative Program Officer I #117000009

An employee in this position is responsible for supervising the Community Relations staff, and developing and delivering marketing campaigns and materials through a variety of media to keep the residents of Cumberland County informed and aware of the library's services, programs, and resources. This position also supports the Division Manager of Marketing and Communications in facilitating internal staff communications and fundraising. Coordinates a broad communication program by developing system wide communication plans for library services, programs, promotions, special events, and public awareness campaigns. Supervises the Community Relations staff to lead a cohesive team with varying levels of participation and responsibilities. Conducts employee evaluations and offers frequent constructive feedback to improve content created by the department. Reviews and approves/denies leave requests and timesheets. Provides guidance to help ensure the aesthetics of interior design and external signage for all locations are informative and attractive.

Location: Headquarters Library

Requirements: Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university with major course work in journalism, media production, communications, public relations or a similar relevant field and 12 months’ work experience in journalism, community relations or public relations and demonstrated knowledge of printing production. Management prefers prior supervisory experience.

Equivalent Training/Experience
Equivalent combination of education and experience (directly related experience may be
substituted for education on a year-to-year basis).

Salary: $40,702.82 /Year

LIBRARIAN II YOUTH SERVICES #117000052

An employee in this position is required to provide reference service and readers’ advisory in youth literature. Develops and presents programs for youth from birth through grade 12. May act as supervisor in charge on a regular basis in the absence of the manager. Works with other YS Librarian II’s under the direction of the Division Manager for Youth Services to plan and implement new services and programs for youth. May be assigned system-wide responsibilities such as grant management, new service development, or ordering materials.

Requirements: Master of Library Science degree (MLS) with 18 months experience as a MLS professional librarian in a public library. Six months supervisory experience preferred. Experience in providing services to youth is preferred.

Equivalent Training
Trainee candidates must have at least 12 months experience as a MLS professional librarian in a public library.

Salary is: $42,583.96 /Year
