Computers & Internet
Computers
Every branch has a public access computer lab with internet. Software includes Microsoft Office 2010, and Open Office. All computers have audio, but users must bring their own headphones.
You will need a Cumberland County library card or a free Temporary Computer Use card to use the computers at any location. Customers without a card may use the 15-minute express terminals.
To save information, you are required to download or save to a flash drive. For security reasons, the computers reset and clear off all information after every session.
Computer sessions are one hour each, with daily session limits varying by branch.
Headquarters, Hope Mills Branch and West Regional Branch
Limit: 2 hours per day
Bordeaux Branch, Cliffdale Branch, North Regional Branch and Spring Lake Branch
Limit: 3 hours per day
East Regional Branch

Parents or guardians may check out a laptop computer to use while their children are in the children’s department. Ask for information at the service desk.
Internet
The library provides Internet access in compliance with federal regulations. If you believe that a site is blocked in error, please inform the library staff.
Children’s library cards are restricted to computers in the children’s department. These computers have fun and educational games along with heavy internet filtering. A parent or guardian must accompany children seven years old or younger. Parents are responsible for their children’s behavior and safety online.
Print and Copy
Cumberland County Public Library & Information Center in partnership with SYSTEL provides, copying, printing, and faxing services at all library locations.
Printing is available from library computers and wi-fi. You must purchase a Venda-Card to print. Venda-Cards cost $2, come pre-loaded with $1.50, and are re-usable in printers and copiers at all locations.
Black & white prints are 10 cents per page. Color prints are 30 cents per page.
Every library location has a photocopier. Prices are 15 cents per page, or 10 cents with a Venda-Card. Color copiers are available at Headquarters, Cliffdale, North Regional, and West Regional locations and cost 50 cents per page or 30 cents with a Venda-Card.
Only single-side printing and copying is available. Library printers and copiers use only library-supplied paper.
To print from your laptop, follow directions to download the Print Client software, or ask a staff member for assistance.
Fax & Scan
All locations have fax machines. Cost is $1 per page, or $3 per page for international faxes, for sending or receiving faxes. Fax machines take only cash, not Venda-Cards.
Cliffdale and Headquarters offer scanning services.
Wi-Fi
Wireless internet access is free at all locations. The network name is CCLIBWIRELESS, and it should connect automatically on most laptops. Users will need to click the Log In button on the LeoSpot screen to connect.
The library’s wireless network is not secure. Information sent from or to your laptop can be captured by anyone else with a wireless device and the appropriate software. We encourage users to observe standard security practices in relation to passwords and credit cards. The library is not responsible for any losses.
